Blanket

HDL Garment manufactures custom baby and kids knit blankets for baby apparel brands, gift brands, and retailers, working from your sketches, tech packs, or reference samples. We also produce baby jumpers, cardigans, rompers, and sweater sets, so a blanket can be developed to match the rest of a collection.

Baby knit blankets are bought in two different ways, and the construction follows the buyer’s intent. A stroller or swaddle blanket is usually a single-layer knit with a finished edge, and the priorities are the edge finish and how the blanket behaves after washing. A crib or decorative blanket is closer to a knitwear item, and the priorities shift to surface interest, shape, and whether the piece carries a brand detail such as a leather patch or a woven label. Deciding which of the two you are buying is the first step, because it determines the yarn direction, the edge, and the sample review points.

The blanket styles we produce include cable knit, checkered and plaid, scallop-edge, muslin-style, and swaddle blankets. A cable or bubble surface reads as texture and is usually chosen for gift packaging. A pointelle or openwork surface is chosen when the buyer wants a lighter hand. Plaid and checkered blankets depend on color boundaries lining up across the repeat, so those need more color approval at the sample stage than a solid blanket does.

A graphic element, a panel, or a surface motif can be formed in the knit itself rather than added afterwards, and the placement, scale, and color contrast all have to be agreed before sampling because they change the knitting program. When a buyer wants a surface element on every unit, it becomes part of the pattern rather than a decoration added later.

Safety-related points for baby blankets are handled as a buyer-specification item. Whether a blanket is intended for supervised use, what edge treatment is acceptable, and what labeling the buyer’s market requires should be given in the tech pack, and we produce to that specification rather than to a default. If your market has specific requirements, include them with the enquiry so they are built into sampling from the start.

Color is open. Any color from your palette can be developed, and the colors shown in our product photos are working references only, not a fixed range. Sizes are developed from your specification or from a size you nominate, and we confirm the finished dimensions before bulk. Custom sizes are available based on the buyer’s size chart. Material options are confirmed according to the design and target hand feel. MOQ is confirmed after reviewing the yarn, color, craftsmanship and order requirements. Sampling and production schedules are confirmed after all design details are approved.

For buyers building a full baby range, our custom baby and kids sweaters cover jumpers, cardigans, rompers, and sweater sets alongside blankets. If you are developing a knit program that includes other categories, the custom sweater manufacturing services page explains how pattern development, yarn sourcing, and private label finishing are organized. Buyers working through baby knitwear development for the first time can review the knit construction guide alongside the baby and toddler safety checklist before sampling.
