HDL Garment manufactures custom men’s knitted cardigans for fashion brands, private label programs, and online retailers, working from your sketches, tech packs, or reference samples. Cardigans sit alongside our men’s pullovers, vests, and knitted pants, so a cardigan can be developed as part of a larger menswear knit range.

A cardigan is defined by its front opening, and that single element drives most of the development. A full-zip cardigan needs the zipper tape, the front panel length, and the way the rib meets the zipper to be agreed before sampling. A button-front cardigan depends on the placket width, the button spacing, and how the buttonholes behave in a knit. A varsity or color-block cardigan adds color placement across the panels, so the boundaries between colors have to line up with the seams. A hooded or open-front cardigan carries the same decisions but with a softer front edge.

The cardigan styles we produce include full-zip, two-way zip, button-front, varsity and color-block, jacquard, embroidered patch, and fuzzy-surface cardigans. Zip-through styles are usually chosen for a sportier position, while button-front styles lean toward a classic or college look. Where a cardigan carries a jacquard pattern or an embroidered patch, the placement is agreed against the pattern pieces, because a knit motif cannot be repositioned the way a print can.

Sizing for men’s cardigans is developed from your size chart. Because knit garments change dimension when they relax, we work from finished measurements rather than nominal labels, and confirm the tolerances for the key points, including the body length and the sleeve length, before bulk.

Color is open. Any color from your palette can be developed, and the colors shown in our product photos are working references only, not a fixed range. Where a cardigan is a color-block or two-tone style, the color boundaries are what need the most attention at the sample stage, because the definition of a stripe, a block, or a jacquard edge depends on how the yarns meet.

Material options are confirmed according to the design and target hand feel. We can also accept a yarn you nominate or a yarn we propose for you to approve before sampling. MOQ is confirmed after reviewing the yarn, color, craftsmanship and order requirements. Custom sizes are available based on the buyer’s size chart. Sampling and production schedules are confirmed after all design details are approved.

Our custom men’s sweaters cover the full range of cardigans, pullovers, vests, and knitted pants, and the men’s knitted pullover page shows the related crew neck, polo collar, and half-zip styles. If your program also includes other knit categories, the custom sweater manufacturing services page explains how pattern development, yarn sourcing, and private label finishing are organized.
