Development starts from your design intent; the knit structure and finishing are then agreed before sampling.

A cardigan is rarely a single item in a range. It is usually planned within our custom women’s sweaters, alongside women’s pullovers, women’s sweater vests, and women’s knit sets, so yarn and color carry across the group while each garment still works on its own.

A cardigan is defined by the front opening, and that opening is where the construction decisions begin. The placket, the closure position, and the way the front edge is finished are settled before sampling, because they decide how the cardigan closes and how the front sits when it is worn open.

Front openings in our current styles include full-zip and open-front wrap. A hooded full-zip cardigan and a kimono wrap cardigan with a belt present different construction problems: a zip needs a finished tape and a matched front edge, while a wrap depends on the overlap width and where the belt sits.

Surface direction is chosen per style. Cable knit and rib give structure without added color work. Jacquard builds the motif into the knit, and the placement is agreed against the pattern pieces because a knit motif cannot be repositioned after knitting. Embroidery and hand-stitched detail are added after knitting, so their placement is checked on the finished garment.

Lengths and shapes in the current styles include cropped, long, and maxi cardigans, with details such as patch pockets, a shirt collar, and a self belt.

Yarn is confirmed against the design and the target hand feel. Where a development calls for wool or cashmere, the blend is agreed against the sample rather than assumed from the style name, and our comparison and selection of different wool materials covers how those options are weighed.

Sizing is developed from your size chart. Because knit garments change dimension when they relax, we work from finished measurements rather than nominal labels, and confirm the tolerances for the key points, including chest, body length, and sleeve length, before bulk.

Color is open. Any color from your palette can be developed, and the colors shown in our product photos are working references only, not a fixed set. Material options are confirmed according to the design and target hand feel. MOQ is confirmed after reviewing the yarn, color, craftsmanship and order requirements. Custom sizes are available based on the buyer’s size chart. Sampling and production schedules are confirmed after all design details are approved.
